Artist's Comments

Aaargh. Another one of those shots where you're just like, how the hell should I categorize this?!?

Very minimal editing was done on this shot. Clearly, this guy's been through the mill a bit.

EDIT: Ended up burning in the bright spot on the ball...decided that it was way too bright for what I wanted. ^_^;

I just like this. Nice, muted palette; pretty good composition; straight to the point. It even looks as though the baseball has a smile on it, as if to say "I did what I was made for." It almost has a message to give the viewer. Normally I hate pretentious message shots, but this avoids the pretentious jerk factor entirely. Its a baseball, a very American image that is proud and well done. You can really tell that this ball was well loved and appreciated and it may have been a toy for both people and a pet. This really is a good shot. Kudos.

I do like this, the composition and the concept are great and tought out. The colours work just fine too, very "sepia" which fits with the old ball.

The only thing you could've improved is the exposure: the ball is too bright on the right side of the photo and too dark on the top left

Thanks for the comment...and I actually changed the exposure awhile back, and apparently never uploaded the edited image. I'll do that now. Thanks! ^_^
